Good practices for NFC contact cards
- Keep first and last name in separate fields. Phones sort and search contacts by last name. A single combined field often files people under the wrong letter.
- Write phone numbers in international format, e.g. +971 50 123 4567. The number then works from any country and opens WhatsApp correctly.
- The link never changes. If someone's details change, edit the card here. Tapping the physical card gives the new details right away, with no reprogramming.
- Write the link as a URL record (NFC Tools → Write → Add a record → URL). Test it with one iPhone and one Android, then lock the tag so nobody can overwrite it.
Include the country code, starting with +.
Use a work email that will stay valid.
One line. Commas are fine: they're formatted correctly in the contact file automatically.
Link to the person's profile page, not just the homepage.
Shorter is better: small NFC tags (NTAG213) hold about 130 characters. Can't be changed later.
* Name plus a phone or email is required.
